Castle Keepers Founders Advise OSHA on Home Cleaning During COVID-19
On Oct. 8, 2020, Castle Keepers House Cleaning Founders Tom and Janice Stewart met with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives to discuss COVID-19 guidance for the cleaning industry.
For the Stewarts, who have lived in Charleston and owned Castle Keepers House Cleaners since 1994, being leaders in the cleaning industry is nothing new. Mr. Stewart is a past president of the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI), co-founders of the industry trade magazine Cleaning Business Today, and owners and instructor at Cleaning Business Builders.
“We’ve worked hard to build a professional cleaning business,” said Mr. Stewart. “It is an honor that our clients, our community, and now OSHA, recognize Castle Keepers as an authority on home cleaning.”
During the OSHA meeting, the Stewarts expressed concern over access to appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and necessary cleaning products, and discussed different federal, state, and local COVID-19 guidelines.
